CalmWord Support

We're here to help

A quiet, unhurried place to get support with CalmWord — for you, or for someone you're helping. Have a look through the answers below.

Common questions

Tap a question to see the answer.

I've already unlocked CalmWord, but it's asking me to pay again

This usually happens after reinstalling the app or setting it up on a new phone or tablet.

On the unlock screen, tap Restore Purchase. Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple ID or Google account you used when you first unlocked CalmWord. Your access should return within a few seconds, with no need to pay again.

How does the 30-day free trial work?

When you first open CalmWord, you get 30 days with everything unlocked — every season, every difficulty, and your own word lists, with no ads and no interruptions.

After 30 days, CalmWord doesn't lock you out. It settles into a free Practice Mode you can keep playing for as long as you like. If you'd like everything back, a single one-off payment — about the price of a coffee — unlocks it for good. There's no subscription and nothing to cancel.

I set this up for a family member — what should I know?

Many people install CalmWord on a parent's or partner's device and manage it for them. That's completely fine, and everything above still applies: the unlock and trial are tied to whichever Apple ID or Google account is signed in on that device.

If you move CalmWord to a new device, sign in with the same account first, then use Restore Purchase to bring the unlock across.

The clue reading feels quiet, wrong, or isn't playing

Clues are read aloud using your device's built-in voice. If a clue isn't speaking, or sounds too quiet:

Check your device's volume and silent/mute switch, and check that a voice is enabled in your device's accessibility or speech settings.

Tip: tapping a letter square repeats the clue for that word, so there's no rush and nothing is lost by tapping again.
Something isn't working properly

A few things to try first: close CalmWord fully and reopen it, check the App Store or Google Play for an update, and restart your device if the problem continues.

If that doesn't help, please get in touch and tell us what happened — we read every message.
